Care and compassion
Within the role of social services there is a duty to help those, who are in need of support, to live there lives as independently as possible within the community.
These clients have the right to decide, as far as possible, on how they wish to live and the freedom of choice to choose what services they need to help them to reach this objective.
Experienced staff are available to assist the individual in these matters and operate within professional codes of conduct and accountability to ensure that the integrity of the client is not compromised. Below are some areas in which social services work:
· help and support to individuals with problems of abuse and drugs
· help and support to children, youths and families
· financial aid to the private individual and families
· care of the elderly and care of the disabled
· decisions on and control of licenses to sell alcohol
