Kungälv

The history of Kungälv starts around 1000 years ago.
Kungälv has been strategically important throughout history. Bohus fortress built in 1308 is located in Kungälv.
Important industries in Kungälv in the late 19th century: ABC-factory, Industry of glassworks, Göteborgs Kex.

Marstrand

Marstrand was founded in the 13th century. In the 16th century Marstrand was the centre of the herring industry. The Carlsten fortress is located on the Marstrand island. Marstrand became Swedish in 1658.
